As of July 2, 2013 the Biometrics Standards, Performance, and Assurance Laboratory officially became the International Center for Biometric Research! We are housed in the Department of Technology Leadership and Innovation and are a cross-disciplinary center that encourages applied research in the field of biometric technologies. The Centers mission is to prepare students with the ability to innovate and execute strategies in biometrics and related identity management strategies in a technology-rich, systems environment that provides the interface between technology and people, positioning graduates for an accelerated path to leadership. We strive to achieve our mission through a partnership between industry and academia, bridging cultures to find solutions to the challenges associated with developing and implementing biometric technologies.Our research focuses on solving issues that are observed in the field. Our wide and varied research agenda includes human-biometric sensor interaction, mobile frameworks, performance analysis, identity management, usability, and user perception of biometric systems.
