• The Deer Path Art League strives to spark, nurture, and enhance creativity as well as raise awareness and appreciation for arts in the community.For 57 years, the Deer Path Art League has hosted Art Fair on the Square, held Labor Day weekend in beautiful Lake Forest, Illinois. This festival was rated as one of the 100 Best Fine Art and Design Shows in the Nation by Sunshine Artist magazine (September 2010). Art Fair Sourcebook rated the 2009 Art Fair on the Square #78 of the top 600 shows in the nation for 2009, with 2010 rankings yet to be published. Art Fair on the Square is the Art Leagues signature event and helps the League fulfill its mission to bring high-quality visual arts to the community. The Art League also fosters a connection to the arts locally through outreach efforts in schools in neighboring North Chicago, Illinois, and through Art League classes and workshops offered at studios located in Gorton Community Center in Lake Forest. Additionally, the Deer Path Art League Gallery's bi-monthly shows feature work in a variety of artistic mediums and organized around a central concept or theme.
