• Icy Bay Lodge is Southeast Alaska's preeminent fishing lodge, offering guided fishing, hunting, birding, glacier tours, & kayak adventures We fish for King Salmon and Halibut during our Summer season June through August We fish Silver Salmon from the last week of August through the first week of October Icy Bay Lodge History: The dream of Icy Bay Lodge was born when Pete Grimm, founder and owner, fished the Kenai Peninsula back in the 80s. It was there where he fell in love with the rugged landscape and magnificent fishing so unique to Alaska. Still, he dreamed of fishing waters unspoiled by charter boats and guide services he dreamed of a private, luxury lodge standing alone in the true, vast, magnificent wild. In 2005, Petes dream became a reality. Securing exclusive access to untouched runs of Silver Salmon, in one of the newest ecosystems in the world, Icy Bay embodied Petes ideal Alaska. His dream location realized, Pete set about building beautiful Icy Bay Lodge from the ground up. Fully furnished, wired, and plumbed, our special guests have been enjoying all Icy Bay Lodge has to offer ever since construction was completed in 2010. Icy Bay is a body of water in southeast Alaska, formed in the last 100 years by the rapid retreat of the Guyot, Yahtse, and Tyndall Glaciers. It is part of the Wrangell-Saint Elias Wilderness. A century-long glacial retreat has opened a bay more than 30 miles long. National Geographic labeled Icy Bay one of the 10 treasures of the world. Nestled in the Saint Elias Mountain Range, the worlds tallest coastal mountain range, Mt. St. Elias climbs an astonishing 18,008 feet out of the ocean creating some of the most spectacular scenery on planet Earth.
