- Detroit PAL is a non-profit community based organization in Detroit. In partnership with the Detroit Police Department and community volunteers, Detroit PAL builds character in young people through athletic, academic, and leadership development programs.Detroit PAL serves more than 13,000 participants with the help of over 1,500 trained and certified volunteer coaches and mentors. With only 21 team members, the organization works diligently to achieve three global outcomes in youth: kids of high character, kids who make good choices and lead healthy and active lifestyles, and kids who are civically responsible and give back.
