- MissionTo raise awareness and funds for a cure by orchestrating energetic, unique, music-minded events that ROCK to ultimately STICK IT to breast cancer.Our StoryOn October 26, 2010, professional female drummer April Samuels was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer called triple negative breast cancer (ER-, PR-, HER2-). Immediately, April was motivated to do something. In November of 2010, combining her will to fight breast cancer with her passion for drumming, she came up with the motto Breast Cancer Can Stick It!. That motto has now become a brand. Breast Cancer Can Stick It! can be seen on shirts, water bottles, bags, bass drum heads, and cars across the country working to raise awareness and funds for research, clinical trials and a cure for breast cancer. In October 2011, the Breast Cancer Can Stick It! Team participated in their first walk - the Susan G. Komen Dallas County Race for the Cure. In 2012, in addition to participating in its second Dallas County Komen Walk, further fundraising activities began in the form of Metal Shop drummer's Crash Gordon's Breast Cancer Can Stick It! Fundraiser. In 2013, the decision was made to turn Breast Cancer Can Stick It! into a fully functioning nonprofit foundation. The Breast Cancer Can Stick It! Foundation's mission is to raise awareness and funds for a cure by orchestrating energetic, unique, music-minded events that ROCK to ultimately STICK IT to breast cancer. Since 2010, April's efforts have raised a combined over $60,000. Education: Updated pamphlets and documentation for all eventsBreast Cancer Can Stick It! is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) foundation.
