- Lynx Biosciences (LynxBio) is developing technologies to predict the efficacy of chemotherapies for multiple myeloma (MM) and other blood cancer patients. LynxBio's product, MicroC3, is a test that rapidly analyzes the therapeutic response of MM patients tumor cells with their own non-tumor cells. This is a technological advance from other companion diagnostics (CDx) and chemosensitivity/resistance assays (CSRAs) which analyze the tumor cells alone. By incorporating both tumor and non-tumor cells from the bone marrow, MicroC3 is a more accurate reflection of the unique biology in individual patients. MicroC3 is currently the only assay enabling analysis of blood cancers. Early clinical validation of MicroC3 measured the therapeutic responses of patients tumor cells to a common MM drug; MicroC3 correctly identified all patients retrospectively as either clinically responsive or non-responsive . LynxBio is currently conducting a prospective clinical trial to further investigate MicroC3 as a CDx.
