• ABOUT Boston Impact Initiative partners with businesses and organizations throughout our city to create systemic shifts in opportunities for urban communities. We are committed to creating a better future for those communities who have been impacted by racial, social and economic inequality. BII seeks to take an integrated capital approach (combining investing, lending and giving) to putting money to work in our local community. Our ambition is to build a model that other investors can contribute to in Boston, as well as to share our learning with communities elsewhere. INTEGRATED CAPITAL STRATEGY The Boston Impact Initiative seeks to invest in organizations and initiativesboth for-profit and not-for-profitthat are committed to creating a better future for Bostons youth and families. Unfortunately, the businesses that we most want to succeed often suffer from a lack of access to capital. We believe that we can best support the creation of resilient local economies by using a range of integrated capital tools: loans, credit enhancements, equity investments, royalty finance, direct public offerings, crowd-funding, grants and more. OUR BELIEFS ABOUT CHANGE We believe a systemic shift is necessary in some of the fundamental conditions that contribute to persistent poverty and injustice among urban communities. It is essential that people have the opportunity to own and control their futureto secure jobs that provide growth and stability, to own their own homes, to have access to good food and reliable health care. Most important, they need to recognize their worth as citizens and their capacity to shape a better future for themselves and their communities.
