Stewart Glapat Corporation was founded in Zanesville, Ohio, in 1939 by Charles T. Stewart, Sr., with help from his father, C.O. Stewart. The original business focused on designing and manufacturing glass-making machines. The Adjustoveyor, which is the extendable conveyor that is central to Stewart Glapats business today, was invented initially for the reliable delivery of glass-making chemicals to the correct part of the glass furnace. It was soon realized that this application could translate to product distribution and the loading and unloading of over-the-road trailers. Today, Stewart Glapat operates in its original location and is a fourth-generation family business. We continue to expand the concept of the telescoping conveyor into new applications, providing money and time-saving solutions to our clients.
