Destination Education is here to help you navigate your path to success!In 2010, the Foundation was asked by The Michigan College Access Network to consider establishing a local college access network as part of a statewide initiative to increase the number of students earning a college degree. As we researched the need in our area and convened a large group of community representatives, the decision was made to move ahead and Destination Education, which initially focused exclusively on high school students, was born. We were able to secure commitments for three full time College Advising Core members through the University of Michigan and Michigan State University to serve in our three largest school districts and their work has yielded great results. However, even by late 2012, it became evident that DE could not reach its goals to help students complete a post-secondary degree or credential if they were not reaching critical academic benchmarks throughout their elementary career and a cradle to career vision began to emerge. We began the work of creating a bridge between where Ready For School left off and Destination Education began. Destination Education expanded its focus to include a K-8 component.
