• As the only non-profit school in Washington State specifically dedicated to educating students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences, Hamlin Robinson School (HRS) is a place where students rediscover the joy of learning. By igniting their academic and creative potential, HRS allows students to thrive and succeed within a comprehensive school environment that is designed specifically for how their brains process language. Founded in 1983, HRS recently moved into a newly constructed campus, designed specifically for multi-sensory education. HRS serves students in grades 1-8 whose primary learning profile is that of a learner with dyslexia or another language-based learning difference. The impact of HRS on a childs future is inspiring and profound. Students at Hamlin Robinson and their families gain the skills and conviction needed to advance successfully to high school and beyond. HRS graduates take with them not only a strong academic skill set, but the ability and confidence to advocate for themselves and their educations. HRS proudly embraces its responsibility to serve those in the community who need the expertise found at the school. Leveraging the proven strengths and transformational qualities of the Hamlin Robinson School education, a multi-dimensional Learning Center was launched in 2012 to extend reach into the community. The HRS Learning Center -- a comprehensive institute for dyslexia education, research, training and information extends this reach further to students, families, and teachers in Western Washington, as well as national and international communities. Hamlin Robinson School is approved by the State of Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), and is accredited by the National Association of Accredited Schools (NAAS), Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS, formerly PNAIS) and the Washington State Board of Education.
