In doing so, we prepare them for sustainable careers, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and building the green city we want to see. Since our founding in 2009, we have engaged more than 400 young adults in our signature Clean Energy Corps program, constructed 4 urban farms in NYC public housing developments, and educated tens of thousands of New Yorkers on gardening, healthy eating, energy and water conservation and recycling. MISSION:Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty, preparing urban young adults to succeed in their chosen careers by engaging them in service, training and work experiences related to the clean energy economy. In doing so, Green City Force encourages them to lead socially and environmentally responsible lives.We are working towards a green city built on principles of sustainability, social, economic and environmental justice.
