• Our Mission Transformation Yoga Project is a non-profit outreach program teaching yoga and mindfulness as a tool for personal change in the lives of people within drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities, the criminal justice system, and VA hospitals. We teach skills for reducing stress, healing trauma, and providing practical knowledge of how to handle one's emotions. Populations Served Transformation Yoga Project helps the underserved or at-risk populations of prisons, drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers and veterans' hospitals & clinics. We recognize the importance of presenting a solid and challenging yoga program that is tailored to the needs of these populations. Our success lies in our understanding of how the power of yoga will resonate with people who may be hesitant to 'do' yoga. Through experience, we understand how respect is gained by addressing the culture of each population and not simply sending in good yoga instructors. Transformation Yoga Project is a 501c3 non-profit organizations whose activities are funded through contributions from individuals and organizations. We anticipate seeking contributions from the business community in Pennsylvania and other philanthropic individuals and organizations as well as applying for grants targeted towards the populations we serve. We also encourage the facilities where classes are held to contribute to the cost of the classes.
