• The Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District (MVT CID) is a private, nonprofit organization established to enhance the overall quality of life for residents, employees, visitors, and property owners in the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood of Downtown DC. Celebrating its 10th Anniversary in 2014, MVT is considered to be one of Washington DCs best examples of a mixed-use community. MVT is at the heart of the city. Its boundaries include 17 blocks within the east end of downtown, bordered by 7th St. to the west, Massachusetts Ave. to the south, New York Ave. to the north and New Jersey Ave. to the east. MVT is a welcoming and authentic neighborhood that mirrors the Citys unique mix of historic and modern buildings, and diverse cultures, restaurants, and experiences.A Community Improvement District is a designated geographic area in which the property owners have agreed to pay a supplementary real property tax in order to raise funds for designated programs or projects, such as street cleaning services.MVT experiences dynamic growth and development in the office, residential, and retail sectors. Today, it has one of the densest concentrations of residents in DC. The MVT CID has 1.7 million square feet of office space and 3,689 residential units existing and under construction. The new office construction includes the Association of American Medical Colleges and Arnold & Porters new 601 Massachusetts Avenue building. Residential buildings recently delivered and under construction include Lyric, Meridian II, m.flats, and 460 New York Ave. In addition, the 40-plus restaurant & retail offerings continue to grow with the recent additions of Alba Osteria, Le Pain Quotidian, and Silo. This development matches our organic neighborhood connections and community initiatives.
