    • The premiere provider of affordable housing and services in the Central Vermont region, Downstreet strives to help Vermonters find everything they need for a safe, adequate and permanently affordable home.Downstreet operates several lines of business: apartments for rent; property management and 24/7 maintenance service for our rental apartments; home-ownership education; financial and foreclosure counseling; permanently affordable shared-equity homes for sale; revolving loan fund for essential home repairs; real estate development projects; and SASH (Support and Services at Home), a program aimed at providing access to services for elderly and disabled Vermonters.Founded in 1987, Downstreet Housing & Community Development was originally known as Central Vermont Community Land Trust. Downstreets staff of 23 full-time employees and 2 part-time employees create opportunities for long-term affordable housing and create strong and diverse communities throughout Central Vermont.
