• Here at FLR, we have managed to find a group of professionals, more specifically experts in the field of marketing, website design, business operations, IT infrastructure, and other fields, who all have something in common: we all want to give back. This is how the seed of FLR was planted. We had each looked back on our own personal struggles with school, poverty, missed chances, and unavailable opportunities due to our familys socioeconomic status. Then we imagined how much more successful and driven we and our peers would have been if we had access to programs to enhance our skills and improve on our weaknesses; trusted mentors who could share their experiences and give sound advice away from standardized tests; resources to help us achieve our next steps and help us decide what path was best for us; and role models to look up to. That is what we wanted to give to the current generation of students, and that is how Forward Thinking Leadership Academy was born; A leadership program where students will learn accountability, responsibility, discipline, the importance of philanthropy, and other vital skills to help achieve whatever their scholastic and career goals may be. Although sounding so simple, these basic life skills are more routinely forgotten in the current school systems. With FTLA, there will be programs implemented onto school campuses for accessibility and ease, and with it, members will have teachers, workshops, tools, and most importantly, information. They will all become leaders in their own right with guidance, hands-on projects, volunteer work, and a strong support system among their peers. Participating institutions will have customizable flexibility to help incorporate already established curriculum and scholastic material. For us, our consulting component to FLR isnt just to make money. It's about making a difference for our affiliates.
