• Stuyvesant has been operating as an independent registered investment advisor to institutions and high net worth individuals since 1978. We have over 100 million dollars in assets under management. Our portfolios are managed as separate accounts using both individual securities and exchange traded funds (ETFs). Portfolios are generally comprised of the same core securities, which include allocations to domestic and foreign stocks and bonds. While our clients will own the same securities, each portfolio's allocation is unique and reflects the risk and return requirements and constraints of the client. We manage equity only and balanced portfolios.The managerial strategy that we employ is referred to as sector rotation / relative value. It is a top-down process that utilizes the macroeconomic research that we purchase from a third party independent research firm. They break down the domestic and international markets into three ratings: Underweight, Neutral, and Overweight. We focus our portfolios on their overweight calls and use our three and a half decades of experience across many market cycles to determine investable opportunities.Our investment process is disciplined and quantitative. After an industry is selected for analysis we seek to find equities that display strong capital management and deep value. We begin by performing a cross-sectional analysis across approximately a dozen firms within the same industry. This proprietary process analyzes 25 variables and identifies firms with strong capital management. Our margin tracking study is then utilized to ensure that profitability has bottomed out in tandem with our third party research provider's observations of the industry. Lastly, the Stuyvesant Earnings and Dividend Discount Model will provide us with an estimation of intrinsic value. Inputs include Beta, dividend and earnings forecasts from the Value Line Investment Survey, and our calculation of the equity risk premium.
