• Strides for Peace was founded to bring people and organizations together to reduce gun violence, create a safer Chicago, and save lives. We believe that while there is no easy answer, no one strategy that will stop the violence, we can find new ways to support the work on the ground, in the communities most impacted, for the those who are at greatest risk. We believe people across Chicago want to help. They just dont know how to make a difference. By creating turn-key opportunities that generate unencumbered financial resources, Strides for Peace supports existing programming while building an infrastructure for new collaboration. By deploying capital to those already making a difference in their communities, we can increase the scale of positive impact and make real progress in reducing gun violence in Chicago. Heres how you can take a stand and be part of the solution and show the world Chicago can come together to make Strides for Peace: CONNECT with a Community Partner: We create opportunities for people and companies who care to connect to nonprofits who are already making a difference in their communities. COMMITT to run for Peace : Join us and hundreds of other from across the region on June 1, 2017 for our annual Race Against Gun Violence, and show the world Chicago can come together to take a stand against gun violence. CONTRIBUTE to our community partners by becoming a sponsor, bringing your friends and family to run for peace, or volunteering. Be part of the COLLECTIVE effort to bring peace to throughout Chicago. We all have different capacities to get involved, but we ALL can play a part to move towards a better Chicago and a safer world for our children and our future. Spread the word and show the world that Chicago can come together to bring peace. Lives are at stake. Its going to take all of us. And every stride counts when we work together.
