• The Georgia Symphony Orchestra is no ordinary Orchestra! We are constantly redefining what a modern orchestra can be. Our 21st century orchestra focuses on innovative programming, education and community engagement. The Georgia Symphony Orchestra provides musical opportunities for nearly 800 musicians encompassing a professional orchestra, a jazz band, a chorus, and the largest youth orchestra program in the region. These opportunities have positioned the Georgia Symphony Orchestra to be a cultural leader and to raise the quality of life in our region by providing great live music throughout our communities. The mission of the Georgia Symphony Orchestra is to engage and enrich diverse audiences through the presentation of music at the highest artistic level. We strive to instill a lifelong appreciation for the arts by immersing participants in live music, while relating these experiences to diverse cultures and the community at large.The Georgia Symphony Orchestra ascribes to the belief that an arts organization should seek to become an integral part of both the immediate and global community. Our musical programming is designed to engage, educate, and create dialogue that enriches the lives of the local and regional community. The GSO offers professional musicians performing to an array of musical interests and includes: a full orchestra, the GSO Jazz, the GSO Chorus and the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra, thus appealing to children, adolescents and adults. Our creative and eclectic programmings is offered within a wide array of small and large performance areas, including churches, schools and universities, professional spaces, and free public performance offerings. With close to 1,000 participants in its programs and over 13,000 patrons last year, the GSO has made itself deeply relevant to the area it serves.
