- Over the last 30+ years, CEC Associates, Inc., has learned that companies practicing proactive disability management have a significant advantage over those who do not. In addition to the cost containment factor, a tangible advantage of aggressive disability management is employee loyalty, which is an essential aspect of business development. Employers concerned about and supportive of their employees are farsighted and practical. Employees who recognize that genuine concern reward employers with commitment to the companys goals. CEC has always felt a responsibility to share its knowledge and experience. For example, we assisted Villanova University in developing a masters level rehabilitation counselor curriculum. We planned and conducted workshops in critical topics surrounding disability awareness and management, competent vocational assessment, career change, and positive psychology. We publish a newsletter that deals with issues related to disability management and other human factors in the workplace. We educate many professionals, including rehabilitation counselors, risk managers, nurse case managers, lawyers, insurance adjusters, and employerson topics related to vocational/rehabilitation evaluation as well as the issues of conflict resolution, the ADA, FMLA compliance/integration, and disability prevention and management, to name a few. We have learned more than we have taught. We look forward to maintaining our continuing education commitment and our dialogue with those interested in reducing the financial and human costs of occupational disability and misconceptions associated with it. Our focus for the future is strong. We look forward to the challenges the future holds. We hope to continue in the pursuit of happiness for all of our clients and all of our hard-working staff.
