Borough & Block

Description

• Borough + Block is a social impact design studio. We teach people how to design for equitable, sustainable change. Being deeply committed to increasing access and dignity for all, we were selected to develop strategies with the communities of East Akron, OH and the Beallwood neighborhood in Columbus, GA in partnership with NeighborWorks America, an organization whose work has created opportunities for affordable housing, access to community resources, and neighborhood development for many years. We worked with teams from each community who rolled out our recommendations in early 2016. We built the launch strategy for a new Chicago tech start-up that's focused on shared community narrative through experiences: vamonde.com.Our special project on equity in place branding, Chicago Whistlestops, was featured in international publication PlaceBrands.
