• SPD Rentals is a global provider of Sterile Processing Equipment and Accessories. Our goal is to provide our clients with state of the art equipment that will:Reduce operating expenses: By utilizing current Blue Wrap operational budgets, we are now able to transition our healthcare clients to our Flex Sterilization Containers Rental Program. This will save our clients up to 60% from what they are currently paying today for the blue wrap. Increase patient safety:Approximately 5% to 10% of all instrument sets wrapped for sterilization have to be reprocessed due to tears in the Blue Wrap. That number can increase to 30% when wrapping heavy orthopedic instrument sets. These sets then need to be flashed leading to a potential risk of infection. The reprocessing of instruments during a procedure takes and an average of 22 minutes per event. Reduce unfriendly environmentally unfriendly waste:Blue Wrap makes up as much as 55% of the total volume of disposable plastics leaving the OR.The Blue Wrap is made of polypropylene and takes up to 200 years to degrade in our landfills. Ancillary Equipment: We also rent all additional SPD equipment including case carts, shelving, tables, ultrasonic equipment, and sterilizers.
