- The Oregon Association of REALTORS® was established in 1932 to organize the real estate profession in Oregon. Today it is one of the largest and most influential trade associations in the state, representing nearly 16,000 members involved in all aspects of the real estate profession. Our members are residential and commercial brokers, managing principal brokers, property managers, and industry affiliates.The work of the Association is overseen by an Executive Committee, headed by the President of the Association and by a 100+ member Board of Directors, representative of 24 local boards and associations from throughout the state. The 2017 OAR President and Chair of the Board is George Grabenhorst from Salem. The 2017 President-elect is Steve Strode from Portland.The Association currently has 11 employees on staff. The senior staff team is comprised of Dr. John Wallace (Chief Executive Officer), Jenny Pakula (VP of Legal Affairs & Business Development), and Shawn Cleave (Government Affairs Director).
