• Aptitude Investment Management was founded by the investment management team that served as a dedicated in-house CIO for Weyerhaeuser Companys U.S. and Canadian pension trusts since 2004. Today, we use our experienced skill-based investing approach to provide solutions to the complex problems institutional investors face. By leveraging the long institutional legacy of our founding principals we are able to source and access managers who we believe have significant skill in investing, or aptitude. We apply acquired experience and a bottom-up approach, devised and implemented by substantially the same team for over a decade. We seek to build meaningful relationships with a select number of institutional clients as a trusted partner and strategic advisor. We concentrate on developing a deep understanding of our clients goals and offer flexible investment solutions to meet their needs. As of December 31, 2016 we managed $5.6bn in assets, of which approximately $3.7bn was under the full discretionary management of Aptitude. The remaining assets are under the investment discretion of an unaffiliated third-party advisor subject to Aptitude oversight through its role as completion manager of certain client portfolios. Aptitude Investment Management LP, formerly known as Federal Way Asset Management LP, commenced operations in July 2012. Federal Way Asset Management LP changed its name to Aptitude Investment Management LP in 2017.
