• About the NCAC: The North Country Artists' Guild was established in 1949. This organization served the North Country by providing promotional opportunities to fine artists. In 2009 our mission was expanded and name changed to The North Country Arts Council to reflect our hope of encompassing all arts.Our Vision for the Future of the North Country Arts Council: The North Country Arts Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and promoting the arts in northern New York. We represent all areas of the arts - music, theatre, dance, literary arts, visual arts, and crafts. Our vision for the future is that residents of the North Country will be able to look to NCAC as a clearing house of opportunities for artists, get information about upcoming classes, and learn more about the programs we offer.Once development is complete, you will be able to come to nnyart.org to see the Cultural Calendar of the North Country, find useful tips for artists and lots of links to individual artists and other organizations. In the gallery and arts news sections you'll see and hear samples of new works by regional artists.We encourage visitors to our web page to use the contact us link to request more information or to provide us with information so we may include your cultural organization or activity on our resource page. You can also ask questions, give us your comments, share your arts-related news, and learn more about becoming a member and getting involved with the arts in northern New York. We always welcome new members, volunteers, and patrons of the arts.You can help. For the Spring, the NCAC meets the second Thursday of each month at 6 pm at The Flower Memorial Library, Washington Street, Watertown, NY. These meetings are open to the public. Anyone interested in improving the cultural climate of our community is welcome to attend.
