• Libby has been the Controller for The Country Club of Naples since April 16, 1991. She graduated from Sangamon State University in Springfield, IL in 1980 with a degree in Accounting. While going to college she worked full-time for Federated Funeral Directors, a mail-order accounting firm for funeral homes across the country. After graduation, she became a field auditor for the Illinois Department of Transportation, conducting contract audits of consulting engineers and others who did work for the D.O.T.Libby took and passed the CPA exam in November of 1980 and in 1981 decided to pursue her CPA license by working for a Springfield CPA firm. In 1982, after marrying, she moved with her husband to his native New York. There she worked for two New Jersey CPA firms in Bergen County for seven years. She moved to Bonita Springs in October of 1990 with her husband and two small children. After a tax season with Rogers, Wood, Hill, Starman, & Gustason on Marco Island, she started her employment with The Country Club of Naples the day the clubhouse shut down to begin construction on a new facility.As a CPA, Libby is required to attend 80 hours of continuing education every two years so she remains current in the field. Most of the hours are spent in coursework to improve her knowledge of club operations and issues. She is a member of the AICPA, the FICPA (the National and State Certified Professional Accountant organizations) and HFTP (Hospitality Financial Technology Professionals). She also maintains the database for the local area club controllers group so ideas, as well as problems, can be shared.
