• Health Imperatives is a non-profit community based agency that provides vital health and human services to more than 27,000 families and individuals each year from communities stretching from Quincy to Nantucket. Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of low-income or vulnerable families and individuals in Southeastern Massachusetts.At Health Imperatives we aim to meet the diverse needs of a growing population of underserved families and individuals with complex needs. The vast majority of those we serve are young, predominantly low-income women and girls who are challenged with multiple barriers to good health and safety, and we are committed to increasing access to the highest quality care for those who are often left out or left behind.Our programs include resources for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, personal and reproductive health services, and primary care for adjudicated youth in state custody. We also have a home visiting program for young parents and provide supports for lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgendered, and questioning (LGBTQ) adolescents and their families. In addition, we offer trainings and educational initiatives for other service providers and the general public. We operate these programs at multiple locations throughout the region, and all of our services employ a trauma-informed and client-centered best practice model.
