- HealthSpan Dx is an early stage laboratory services company. We are developing a diagnostic test that will guide physicians to select treatments and therapies that maximize outcome for individual patients.Currently, patient's age is used in treatment decisions in an effort to minimize risk of debilitating treatment-induced complications or death. However, chronological age is an unreliable predictor of person's wellness and ability to handle treatments or heal after surgery. We are developing a blood test that will determine patient's molecular age and improve risk assessment and patient outcome.HealthSpan Dx was founded based on intellectual property from the laboratory of Dr. Norman Sharpless at the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the UNC School of Medicine-Chapel Hill.
