- Federal Radio is a customer focused wireless communications solution provider. We are a small business dedicated to providing high quality services with emphasis on attention to details that directly affect the end user of our services and systems while supporting the needs of management. Let us show you how customer service should work. Our Peace of Mind service plan is a valuable addition to your system, offering total protection for your portable and mobile radio equipment. Federal Radio has provided trunked radio service to federal government agencies and contractors since 1993. The original FedSMR service was built on the Motorola Smartnet platform. The service is provided under contract with DOC and administered by the NTIA. The mandate for all federal frequencies to convert to narrow band channels resulted in Federal Radio building site multi-site multi-vendor compliant trunked radio system. In 2003 the 1CommWireless service began operation utilizing the popular Passport trunking protocol. Voice dispatch and data services are provided exclusively to federal government and federal contractors in the Washington-Baltimore corridor. In April 2010 we introduced FedSMR-D the new multi-site digital trunked radio service. We are always striving to improve the quality of affordable communications. The introduction of digital radio offers a nearly 20% improvement in usable voice communication and allows support for data/text messaging and GPS location technology. We have recently improved on the FedSMR-D service to add seamless on-site and in-building roaming with AES encryption. Come see how we can serve your on-site needs and interoperate with others. And we did not leave out continuity of operations; our COOP travel kits let you take your radio system with you.Contact us 1-800-718-4111
