    • The Midwest Access Project (MAP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare through the education and training of healthcare providers and the public. Since the inception of our training program in 2007, MAP has trained students and professionals in comprehensive reproductive healthcare on a wide range of topics including:Sexual health history takingInformed consentContraceptionPatient-centered contraceptive counselingContraceptive device insertion and removalComprehensive, patient-centered pregnancy options counselingAbortion care, including manual vacuum aspiration, electric vacuum aspiration and medication abortionScreening and treatment of sexually transmitted infectionsManagement of pregnancy loss, first trimester bleeding and ectopic pregnancyCancer screeningMAP fills a unique need by offering training in comprehensive reproductive healthcareincluding abortionto healthcare professionals and trainees, including physicians, nurses, advance practice clinicians, residents and students, who do not have access to full scope reproductive health training through their schools or jobs. Through our programs, MAP provides concrete skills to highly motivated clinicians who otherwise would lack the necessary training to meet the needs of their patients.
