• Trusted Mentors is the leading provider of mentoring relationships that empower at-risk adults to successfully remain housed and avoid incarceration. Our primary program is 3 Tracks to Success: Mentoring for Long Term Homeless Prevention, Mentoring for Successful Re-entry and Mentoring for Young Adults Aging out of Foster Care. We Mentor for Change with astounding success. In 2013, Trusted Mentors supported 116 mentoring relationships. 93% remained housed while in contact with their mentors. In Mentoring for Successful Re-entry, 90% successfully completed, or are completing, the requirements of the criminal justice system. Our partnership model with multiple agencies has the advantage of no duplication of services. We currently collaborate with 25 agencies including Dress for Success, Homeless Initiative Program, Horizon House, Gennesaret Health Recovery Program, Salvation Army, Childrens Bureau, Second Helpings and Recycle Force. We recently added the Indianapolis Re-entry Facility (IREF). We are experiencing steady growth in the number of clients mentored and agencies served. Volunteer mentors are provided training in the skill of mentoring and then provided professional support by our staff. Training is provided monthly. Mentors commit to an average of 6 hours/month for a year to work one on one with another person to help them succeed at staying housed or not return to prison. By volunteering an average of 6 hours a month, our mentors transform lives - and our community. Volunteers can also assist with two main fundraisers: Empowerment and Eggs is a breakfast held on the last Friday in April. The Gala is an evening event held every September. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. We are actively building board members who are passionate about helping people remain housed and succeed at not returning to prison.
