• Cactus Int. brings women from the Middle East and North Africa region together and provides them with the tools they need to become successful entrepreneurs. The company is based in Boston and is made up of diverse team members from Saudi Arabia, Palestine, the U.S., and Tunisia. The company combines between business training, mainly in Arabic, and success coaching. Cactus team has gained expertise in helping women to overcome their personal fears and the cultural barriers that they face so they can reach their highest potential while launching and/or growing their businesses. Areen Shahbari is the founder and chief executive officer of Cactus Int. She is a Fulbright alumna, and a lecturer on strategic management, marketing, entrepreneurship, and effective communication at Harvard University Extension School and Simmons School of Management in Boston. She is also a faculty member at Harvard professional development programs. She holds a BA in psychology and communication, and an MBA in entrepreneurship. Since the company's founding in 2013, Shahbari has provided business courses, workshops, and counseling services to over 1,200 women. Cactus mission is to: 1.Increase Arab womens interest in entrepreneurship 2.Increase the number of Arab women entrepreneurs 3.Connect Arab women entrepreneurs with each other and have them build partnerships, promote each others businesses, support each other emotionally and financially, and share resources and information.
