• Open Hand of Fredericksburg (OHOF) seeks to partner with under-resourced youth and their families to secure sustainable employment through education, leadership development and long-term committed relationships. OHOF operates a four-part program called the GRAD Program (Graduates Reaching an Accessible Destiny). The GRAD Intern Program - formerly known as the Summer Youth Workers Program, this program seeks to pair under-resourced high school students with companies and organizations in the Fredericksburg area for summer internships. GRAD Workshops- this program provides workshops for students in the intern program that seek to turn their internship experience into a long-term career or college major. Some workshop topics will include preparing for an interview and how to write a resume. Some workshops will be based on college prep needs, like ACT/SAT workshops. Some workshops will teach character development, like time management workshops. GRAD Mentor Program - This program will provide mentors and/or job coaches for our interns. GRAD School - This program is geared towards high school students and adult-learners. This program will host a series of classes that will teach skill sets to students such as Microsoft Office, HVAC, or Auto-Mechanics.
