• Larry Munsey International provides consulting services in natural resources management, endangered species investigation, environmental impact assessment and regulatory compliance. Throughout California and the southwestern U.S., the firm serves land developers, engineers, architects, planning and environmental consultants, industry, government, cities and counties, the military, attorneys and the scientific community. Major sectors served include residential and commercial development, community and regional planning, infrastructure, energy, transportation, oil and gas, geothermal, mining, industrial, defense, resorts and recreation. Prior to founding LMI, Larry Munsey served in investigative and management capacities for prominent engineering, planning and environmental consultant firms in California. Early in the latter half of this 20-year period he was a co-founder of what became the fastest growing environmental consulting firm in the western U.S. at the time, where he formed the largest permanent staff of biological scientists operating under one roof within this profession in the region during the mid- to late 80s. He has managed biological investigations and environmental impact assessments for 1000s of projects, domestic and international, for many of which he also performed field work and authored environmental documentation. Contracts served range from small 1-day floral/faunal surveys to multiyear $10+ million interdisciplinary environmental compliance programs. Before and during his 40 years in the environmental industry, Mr. Munsey has maintained active involvement as a research scientist in the fields of entomology and herpetology, both in the U.S. and in 21 countries and 25 islands in Latin America, Oceania and Southeast Asia. Using this combination of experience, in his oversight of each LMI project Mr. Munsey is able to apply a uniquely seasoned perspective to the challenges of harmonizing the developed and natural environments.
