- The Arts & Recreation Foundation of Overland Park supports the cultural amenities of the City of Overland Park, Kansas, including the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead, and public art. The Foundation's mission is to provide and promote art, recreation, nature, education, and culture that build community and enhance quality of life. Stems: A Garden Soirée is the foundation's major event of the year. Held each year in June at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, attendees represent civic, corporate and community leaders. Sponsorships are available. Featured at the event are up to 25 area restaurants and caterers, wineries, and entertainment. The foundation's top priority currently is fundraising for a new visitor center and sculpture garden at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. Investment in this $12,375,000 project will increase the impact of the Arboretum on the community, creating opportunities for celebration, visual and performance art, and environmental and horticulture education.
