• The Browne Center has been providing innovative experiential learning programs since the early 1980's. We provide a wide range of programming from comprehensive training's to shorter one-day sessions. Our learning programs evolve to meet the needs of our clients and our diverse client base allows us to draw upon best practices from a variety of disciplines and remain sensitive to specific needs and outcomes.One of our unique strengths is the diversity of staff serving our corporate training, professional development, university, and youth and student clients. With more than 100 available facilitators and trainers, the Browne Center selects a facilitator/trainer with the background, skills and personality to meet the particular needs of each group. The common thread that runs through all of our work is our belief in the ability of the human spirit to grow and thrive through innovative learning. As a teaching, training, and research affiliate of the University of New Hampshire, The Browne Center is dedicated to advancing the standards of excellence in experiential learning through support of practitioners, researchers, and educators working to achieve social change. The Browne Center was named for Evelyn Browne (1915-1994), a visionary leader with a drive for excellence and an ability to bring out the best in people.Evelyn Ev had a passion for teaching others the value of living in balance with nature. Her love for the outdoor life brought her to the University of New Hampshire in 1943 to teach horseback riding and riflery. She remained at UNH and taught various skills and topics until her retirement in 1981. Her accomplishments were many. As a beloved teacher and activist, she educated community members and organized a movement that prevented Aristotle Onasis from building an oil refinery in Great Bay. Later in her life, Ev was instrumental in the establishment of the Great Bay National Estuary Research Reserve.
