• STIMULATING 100,000 MWs of VAWTs by 2030Wind Harvest International (WHI) is advancing R&D projects to prove that its G168 v1.1 and similar straight-bladed, vertical axis wind turbines (VAWTs) create synergistic benefits when installed among HAWTs and can be safely placed in areas with endangered birds and bats. A major step in advancing those goals was the creation of a team of northern California scientists, and WHIs subsequent application for a $1.25 million grant from the California Energy Commissions EPIC program, submitted on June 20, 2017. Announcement by the CEC of the winner is expected later this year. In the meantime, WHI is seeking companies and individuals to invest in the ownership of the 280kW, four-VAWT R&D project in Solano County, California. WHI is also seeking sites with good to excellent near-ground wind resources and high value Power Purchase Agreements for demonstration projects just about anywhere in the world.
