    • Good Work Institute is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization with a mission to develop business education programs that enable us all to work in ways that regenerate our lives, our communities, and the planet. Originally conceived and incubated in 2015 by the fine folks at Etsy.com, GWI spent its first year as etsy.org. However, as we are independent entities, we decided that the shared name was causing some unnecessary confusion for both parties. So, with great love and respect between our two organizations, etsy.org officially became Good Work Institute in September of 2016. We are reimagining traditional business education by prioritizing compassion, wisdom, and ethical integrity, instead of limitless growth, competition, and profit maximization. We aim to develop the whole person behind each enterprise to develop the capacity to take actions that honor all the people and places they impact. Currently, our primary focus is on cultivating communities of business leaders living and working in and around the Hudson River Watershed. Our programs offer frameworks, practices, support, and community for these leaders to develop and implement projects that aim to have net-positive benefit in the region and beyond.
