- The Orange County Women's Chorus, one of the top amateur choruses in the region, performs diverse, challenging, and enjoyable music under the leadership of Artistic Director Eliza Rubenstein. We are an auditioned, 45-voice ensemble performing everything from medieval chant to jazz, opera to Broadway tunes. Founded in 1997 under the baton of Dr. Raymond Egan and directed by Eliza Rubenstein since 2000, the Orange County Women's Chorus is dedicated to performing the best music for women's voices from every age and culture. Named a 2014 Outstanding Arts Organization by Arts Orange County, we recently toured England and Wales, where we placed third in the Adult Folk Choirs category in the International Musical Eisteddfod in Llangollen. We are committed to creating opportunities for women in music by giving our singers the chance to share their gifts, providing an annual conducting internship for a promising young woman conductor and commissioning new works for women's voices.
