- Red Bird Theatre is a collective of professional artists that are committed to a rigorous, collaborative process and the execution of challenging, provocative work. Red Bird Theatre brings together some of the Twin Cities most exciting and dynamic performers, Artistic Director, Genevieve Bennett and Managing Director, Michelle Hernick. Our most recent collaboration, The Cherry Orchard, was named one of the top five productions of 2014 by MN Playlists Sophie Kerman: a director really on top of her gamesome of the best ensemble acting youve seen all yeara richly-textured world.I actually used the word transcendent in my review. Our mission is to work with the highest caliber artists to produce plays that expose lifes transcendent moments moments that defy boundaries of time and place to feed our fundamental hunger for connection and meaning. Whether ancient or contemporary, our productions remind audiences of our common humanity while celebrating the nuances of our individual experiences.
