- Since 1913 IVEX Specialty Paper, LLC has been nestled along the banks of the Illinois River in Peoria Illinois. The mill was originally the Illinois Paper Company, built in 1912 by Judson M. Bemis, an Illinois farmer. Manufacturing began in 1913. The plant was built with a paper mill and a small bag factory to produce white coated flour sack paper and consumer size flour bags. In the 1920s the name of the plant was changed to the Bemis Bro. Bag Co. In 2005 the mill was acquired by Forest Resources. Forest Resources Mill focused on specialized service, allowing the customer the freedom to consider us part of their organization for their paper and specialty paper needs. In July, 2015 IVEX Specialty Paper, LLC was acquired by New-Indy JV Corporation. New-Indy is a joint venture that was formed in 2012 by the Kraft Group and Schwarz Partners, LP, two family-owned companies with long histories in paper and packaging. New-Indy Containerboard, comprised of two recycled containerboard mills in California (Oxnard and Ontario), was the first acquisition for the JV.
