- Ashrams for Autism is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation dedicated to providing yoga to the autism community. Our mission is to create yoga programs and facilities where individuals with autism can live, work, play and contribute to their community. By utilizing yogic techniques and modern-day scientific advances, these faculties will seek to empower and guide each individual towards peacefully achieving their highest potential. The word, ashram, means a place of community that provides a space for healing and being. This sense of peace is what Ashrams for Autism strives to provide for the autism community. Since 2010, Ashrams for Autism has offered yoga and mindfulness programs to enhance the lives of individuals with autism. Participants engage in a variety of yogic practices that promote self-regulation, improve communication and social skills, and decrease behavioral issues associated with autism. Currently, our organization provides yoga in numerous locations serving hundreds of participants ranging from children to young adults throughout New Jersey and New York.
