• Dedicated to bringing artists from elsewhere to New York, the 501c3 organization NOoSPHERE Arts (est. 2011) is a mobile entity that produces and presents public arts programming across several venues around town. Our mission is to give power to artists and joy to everyone through the magic that ensues. Predating the nonprofits founding, our longest-running showcase platform is Mothership NYC (est. 2005), a live-work and presentation arena for international artists across all disciplines. This artists community is located a few blocks away from Broadway Stages soundstage complex in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, which offers several more spectacular settings for our creative productions: ~ Last Frontier NYC (est. 2014 as Director Sol's painting studio) ~ NOoSPHERE Arts office (as of 2016) ~ Kingsland Wildflowers (est. 2016) and its many unique rooftop stages ~ Broadway Stages Gallery, a pop-up exhibition space (est. 2019) What does our name and logo mean? Known to sages in all cultures throughout the ages, the noosphere is a unifying field of consciousness; a layer of the collective/connective mind encircling our planet. This specific term is attributed to the French theologian Teilhard de Chardin, for whom it denotes a sphere or stage of evolutionary development dominated by consciousness and interpersonal relationships. Through our efforts to give the U.S. audience access to current art from other countries and to bring creative people together for artistic cross-pollination and transnational collaborations, we are building a constantly expanding network of peers spanning the globe. When the paths of creative individuals meet, sparks fly and artistic creations emerge, brightening the skies for all of us.
