- MISSSEY (Motivating, Inspiring, Supporting, and Serving Sexually Exploited Youth) advocates and facilitates the empowerment and inner transformation of sexually exploited youth by holistically addressing their specific needs. MISSSEY collaborates to bring about systemic and community change to prevent the sexual exploitation of children and youth through raising awareness, education and policy development. The organization was founded in 2007, and has since grown to a staff of 8 with a network of 50+ volunteers. Today, it is the preeminent resource in the Bay Area for providing expertise, training, direct services, and policy advice surrounding the challenging issue of child commercial sexual exploitation.The type of services MISSSEY provides includes:Direct ServicesoCase ManagementoResource ServicesoSafe Place Alternative (Drop-in Center)MISSSEY is supported entirely by the contributions of individuals, foundations, corporations, non-governmental organizations and governments. Misssey will be registering new volunteers for the rest of February in preparation for CSEC (commercially sexually exploited children) awareness week in April. Events in April for CSEC Awareness week will be posted on the website as well.
