• Legally blind since childhood, Kate has been given the gift of hands with a heightened sensitivity. They can see exactly where stress is trapped in muscle tissue.Kate's interest in massage therapy was sparked during her undergraduate years at Kenyon College. While studying dance Kate was introduced to massage and bodywork techniques to relax tired and overworked muscles. These few simple techniques ignited in her a desire to learn more about the professional world of therapeutic massage.After graduating from Kenyon, Kate studied at the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Ithaca, New York. At this nationally renowned massage school Kate learned a wide range of massage therapy techniques including: Swedish, neuromuscular therapy, connective tissue therapy, and energy palpitations. Kate has blended all of these techniques to develop her own unique massage style and to create individualized sessions for her clients.After graduating from Finger Lakes, Kate moved to Boston in 1998, where she started her career as a professional massage therapist at Healthworks Fitness Center for Women. Today Kate has a thriving private practice in Brookline. Over the years, she has continued to build upon her knowledge of massage therapy and the various techniques available. In 2005, Kate earned her certification in prenatal massage. Kate is a a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist, the highest level of certification available to a massage therapist.
