Her professional background has helped her develop her skills in financial management, team management and mentorship, and business operations in consumer goods, retail, financial services, and information technology. Allison now uses her professional experience to bring her passion for Mandarin food to life. Born in the Bay Area to Taiwanese immigrants and growing up surrounded by exquisite food from China and Taiwan, she is troubled by the contrasting, and often negative experience most Americans have had with Chinese food. Allisons mission is to share the high quality, Mandarin flavors of her childhood with the Bay Area, breathing new life into Chinese food in the US.Allison has worked FOH in restaurants and draws extensively on a network of friends and colleagues with successful restaurants for mentorship in this endeavor. She is actively attending restaurant management and operation workshops and counseling with the East Bay SCORE and the Alameda County Small Business Development Center. She is currently recruiting a head chef from Taiwan to join her at Pi Dan Noodle House.About the NameThe name, Pi Dan, means century egg in Chinese and is a homonym for trouble maker, which was Allisons fathers nickname for her when she was a child.
