- Worlds Away LLC was founded in Memphis Tennessee in 1992. Starting out as an import company that revitalized the painted tole look that was so popular in the 1980s, Worlds Away soon began to push its design boundaries with additions in handcrafted lighting and hand painted metal furniture. Early in the new decade, the company introduced its first piece of mirrored case good furniture, the Cary mirrored dresser, and it was such a resounding success that many more mirrored pieces soon followed.A resurgence of the Hollywood Regency style and also of Mid Century design inspired Worlds Away to design more and more transitional pieces that could relate to todays interiors and still hint at the past. The company prides itself on its diverse collection of hand leafed and nickel plated iron tables that fit into any décor seamlessly and will look as current 10 years from now as they do today.
