• For over 20 years, Accelerate Institute has earned a successful track record of closing the achievement gap. Originally founded as the Inner-City Teaching Corps, the organization is driven by mission, results and a sense of possibility to solve the achievement gap and provide an equal education for all children. Today, Accelerate Institute is anchored by four innovative programs that converge together for a singular focus of accelerating student achievement: The Ryan Fellowship, which identifies and selects the most highly qualified educators, deeply committed to closing the achievement gap and at the inflection point of their career, and prepares them through a yearlong fellowship to become transformational leaders for urban charter schools nationwide; Partner Principal program, which trains sitting principals alongside Ryan Fellows; The Ryan Award, which is a national award recognizing principals who have demonstrated accelerated results in underserved schools; and Alain Locke Charter School, which is a pre-k through eighth grade school that holds the record for #1 test score gains in the history of the Illinois ISAT test, and was also recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as 1 of 7 schools nationally best Closing the Achievement Gap.
