• We are an artisan line of small batch, handcrafted beauty and personal care products inspired by the world's ancient healing traditions. We believe beauty comes from establishing an internal foundation of health; our blends are formulated using pure, living botanicals- roots, leaves, barks, flowers and extracts, which balance and revitalize the constitution. We strive towards Sattva (Sanskrit for purity), a concept in Vedic philosophy which refers to healthy, nutritious and clean products which purify the body and refrain from inflicting harm on any sentient being or the natural world. Our formulas are cruelty free, always vegetarian, and mostly vegan. We combine organic, wildcrafted, and food grade ingredients with therapeutic grade essential oils selected for their natural aromatic qualities and medicinal properties. BIOS products are made without chemicals, synthetic preservatives, highly processed ingredients, parabens, GMOs, artificial scents, colors or dyes. Each item is handcrafted from our studio in Long Island City and distributed in collectible glass apothecary bottles produced with up to 40% post-consumer content. Orders are prepared with care using biodegradable shipping materials; our recycled cardboard boxes are comprised entirely of post-consumer and post-industrial content and dried wild flowers insulate and protect your formulations from breakage en route. After unpacking your purchase, simply remove the shipping label and add the box and flowers to your compost pile. We favor locally grown and harvested produce and donate a portion of each purchase to sustainable urban agriculture initiatives in the New York City area.
