The Cambodian Community Dream Organization (The Ccdo)

Description

• Change begins at a grassroots level within the Community. The CCDO is an internationally-registered, grassroots NGO working hard to make sustainable improvements in Siem Reap, Cambodia. We are small, local and effective. Our work is focused on the Ampil Commune, a community of 10,000 people living in difficult conditions without electricity or piped water. Our work encompasses all aspects of community life. Our objectives include providing access to clean water and hygienic conditions through the provision of family wells, latrines and community workshops. As of 2016 we have built over 1200 wells and 250 latrines. Our workshops run four times a week with an estimated 2000 participants per year. Our approach is one of collaborative community education on a range of subjects including human trafficking, clean environments and womens empowerment. We ensure almost 1100 students receive a better quality education through our school programs. Our programs cover pre-school to high school and beyond. Extra classes, teacher support, equipment, scholarships, and school breakfasts all serve to boost the quality of learning and increase graduation rates. Our education program operates within existing Cambodian government schools which is the most efficient way to meet Cambodias education needs. We are endorsed by the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports to enrich their school curriculum. Our work is helping to achieve the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: #6 Clean Water and Sanitation, #4 Quality Education, #3 Good Health and Wellbeing, #2 Zero Hunger and #10 Reduced Inequalities. The CCDO is a registered NGO in the USA ( 32-0274553), the UK (1145078) and Cambodia (1401).
