• Heartspring has been a leader and innovator in creating hope and opportunity for children with special needs and their families since it was founded in 1934 as the Institute of Logopedics. Today, Heartspring provides a wide range of services and therapies through several programs including the Heartspring School, Pediatrics Services and Autism Services. Over time, the organization has grown and evolved to meet the ever-changing challenges of children locally, regionally and nationally.The Heartspring School is a not-for-profit residential and day school serving children ages five through 21 from across the country. Heartspring students are impacted by developmental disabilities. It is truly a unique educational setting that encompasses all areas of a students life including education, residential living, psychology, social opportunities, vocational opportunities and medical care. Each student has his or her own individualized programming, which utilizes evidence-based and emerging best practices.Heartspring Pediatric Services offers a wide range of therapies and interventions such as occupational, physical and speech therapies, audiology and psychological services to children ages birth to 21. The outpatient comprehensive facility follows medical model practices. It is designed to allow families and professionals to work together as a team to ensure progress across multiple settings. Heartsprings Autism Services Program provides a wide variety of innovative services and resources for individuals, families, professionals and community members affected by a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related symptoms. Building and enriching a meaningful life for each family member is the focus of services provided and are highlighted through the various programs offered. Autism Services at Heartspring consists of the Community of Autism Resources and Education (CARE) program and Behavioral Services including Applied Behavioral Analysis.
